I spent a couple of hours in an old junky car yard not too long ago. Took a closer look at the chipping paint, cracked windshields and rust on some very old cars and trucks. It was kind of fun looking beyond what I would normally view as just junk. ;)
This may not be every one's cup of tea. It is by no means a Thomas Kinkade photo album. But it was a fun challenge looking beyond the "junk" and finding the vivid colors, textures and design. :)
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Let me say for the record, I take pictures of flowers too before you get too worried ;)
Hope you enjoy the colors, Anni

These are interesting!!! One of the close ups looks like a shot of the earth...I get you on these. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!!! I love anything that's rusty. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love these photos! It is fun to look at things a bit differently, and really observe what is around us--beauty everywhere. . .
ReplyDeleteArtist Unplugged! Thank You for getting these pictures. It's good to see you! That picture reminded me of the earth too. I never knew the junk yard could be so much fun :)
ReplyDeleteGaby Bee, Thank You. You create some very beautiful art work with rusty objects. Love your work. Thank You also for the Christmas wishes. Sorry it took me so long to respond!
Thanks Holly :) I love color and texture. This was a good practice to see beyond the junk and ruin. Blessings to you friend!
There's art in junk too -very colorfully caught! But...I wonder why you call this for the "contemplative" artist? (I had expected subdued colors and poetic renditions:) -not that yours is less, but it's exploding with color!

ReplyDeleteCheers!
I actually LOVE these photos... rusty metal - is there anything better to paint or photograph? Peeling paint, rust spots, reflective surfaces - they all are making me itchy to paint just these elements. What change is wrought when things are not protected, are left exposed to the elements. Reminds me of what happens to our spiritual life when we leave ourselves exposed to the enemy of our souls!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant photos. Isn't it great when you see something in stuff that the world has decided is no longer worth our time any more.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures! Love the colorful rusty look.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and yours,
Tonya
