Swan Dance?

My husband and I stopped at a local winery to enjoy a glass of wine and take a few pictures of the swans at a nearby pond. The picture (below) isn't a great shot, but it is the rather large swan approaching us. The first words out of my mouth as I was taking the pictures were "his body language can't be a good sign"

I retreated :) Didn't want the camera to get damaged. My husband on the other hand stood his ground thinking "it's just a bird". Well that bird went at my husbands kneecaps with a vengeance (and a few other areas). I could almost hear the music from the movie "JAWS" playing as the swan ransacked his knees. This gave a whole new meaning to Swan dance. I didn't take pictures of the event because I was laughing too hard!!! (don't worry, my husband didn't get hurt and neither did the swan)

By the end of the evening I managed to make friends with the aggressive swan. But he continued to have a “peck” shall we say....with my hubby. ;)

The pictures of the swans are before and after (a little creative tweaking)

I am glad you enjoyed the pictures! It's still makes me giggle when I think about that big beautiful swan and my husband kneecap wrestling.

  3. Your photos of the swan are beautiful as always. I had a friend visit from England and took her to Golden Gate park in San Francisco, she went down on her knees to get a great shot of this big goose that was "posing" for her and wouldn't you know it, it attacked her and they both went rolling around on the grass! I'm bad but it still makes me smile to this day! She ended up with grass stains on her white sweater, and a few feathers too!
