In the winter, when everything seems gray and lifeless, photography opportunities and inspiration seem to dwindle. So my husband and I decided to go on photo safari's to "local" places. Places that seem mundane and normal to most of us that pass by. For me it's a challenge to appreciate and capture the landscape of everyday life with new eyes. To see that which we would pass by without a second glance. So for now the Lions and Giraffes will have to wait and the cows and llamas get their 15 minutes of fame.
This "farm" safari is just one in a series of winter time shoots that we've been on this year. The next few safari's will be to a junk yard and an old pioneer grave yard. If you have any ideas or favorite places to paint or photograph, I'd love to hear about them!!!
Hope these make you smile and perhaps inspire you to go on your own creative safari?? Have a great day friends, Anni :)

Anni, These are incredible! I love the one of the mom and her calf. Each one is professional and beautiful (or humorous) in it's own special way. So how can we order prints? (It would be neat to do a set of three or four tree prints together on the wall).
ReplyDeleteAnni I am completely with you, its so nice just to appreciate the nature on our doorstep. The pics are fantastic. I wondered if you had colour versions or are they shot in black and white?
ReplyDeleteThank You Karen....I really need to look into prints. Maybe we can talk about that over coffee :) I'd love to pick your brain on this!
ReplyDeleteSam, Thank You my friend. And yes I do have these in color....Did you have one in particular in mind or all? I can post the color version on the FB page. Just let me know :)
I love the first portrait and really like the cow and calf. The last cow is a terrific shot too. If its not too much trouble could you email me them in their full size?? I would gladly send you a print of the final painting if I used it and all the credits to your sites. Cheers Anni!
ReplyDeleteYou got it Sam! I sent you a message on FB, I need to get your e-mail address that you want them sent to and I'll send them. :)
